"Of corse" the TDC technician was ill Friday, when he should be installing my line, so the internet has first come up again
for aprox 30 minutes ago (2 days after schedule) :-( This sucks but I hope this was the only bummer that I will see with my
new ISP, TDC!? We'll see...

Please note that because of ISP change (from crap Cybercity to TDC), this site will be offline for aprox 48 hours,
from 8. March to 9. March... hopefully not more than this!

The Windows application has been scrapped and declared dead.
The internet graph still continues and will still be developed! The graph database has been running now for almost 3 years now and has been showing my most vital counters online since :-)

The server has been reinstalled and instead of FreeBSD it is now running Fedora.
It have taken some time to get everything in place but I hope that now it is running as usual or else please let me know.

Now it is possible to insert SNMP data directly and you can see the graph in your localized timezone. Please
see the Changelog for more details.
I have been working on some new features and bugfixes for the webpage.

I have been working with a new modem (Westell ProLine 6000) for my Cybercity internet connection. This has resulted in some
hours tonight, where this webpage has been unreachable.

After quite a while with nothing in the demo zone, it has now "magically" popped up again with realtime data. The data processing were suspended, as it took too much CPU usage on my primary server (bad MySQL queries by me) and I don't think anyone else than me is actually using HovMon!? ;-) I am perhaps moving the MySQL database to another server but until now, I have just re-enabled the data processing and everything is again running as normal. If you have any questions or suggestions, please email me at dh@hovklan.com.

The phpBB forum has been removed. It was not used much and it has MANY security issues! Just email dh@hovklan.com if you need
to get in contact with us.

Because of a power failure, here in Copenhagen this night, and the server did not come up automatically
by itself (FreeBSD and a missing automatic fsck), the webpage has been unavailable from 05:38 this night and until now.

HovMon v0.1 released

The MySQL database has just been updated from v4.0.something to v4.1.11. It gives us a lot of troubles, as the timestamp format has changed! :-(
All code must be checked and it can take a couple of days before everything works smoothly again.

The forum has just come online again - hopefully a little more secure than
last as the forum is running the lastest version of phpBB, v2.0.13.

I have just finished a total reinstallation of the server, as I do not know
100% what happend in the defacement process. The phpBB forum will be setup
again, but of course in an updated version, as soon as possible. The server
has been offline from about 20-03 o'clock this night.

The forum has been cancelled, for the moment, as it has been defaced/hacked. I am not yet totally sure how
and until that is cleared, there will be no forum. The forum was phpBB v2.0.6. I hope to get the forum back
as soon as possible, as we can't do without user feedbacks :-)

PHP is updated from v4.3.10 to v5.0.4. I can not see any negative effects of this upgrade but in the next
couple of days, I will be extra aware of errors on the site. Please write me an email, if you see or have any
problems.

The last couple of days, the system has been unstable. I have migrated the old server into a new and more powerful
server and there have been many times where the server was offline. The new server is a (FreeBSD v5.3) Intel P4 2.4GHz,
512MB RAM and with a total of 550GB harddisk capacity. I can tell, that it is a dream to build a new release of
FreeBSD! :-)

We expect some downtime this weekend (more or less between 2005-01-30 and 2005-01-31), as we will move the HovKlan server
to a new location. It will be moved from Jespers 512/512Kbit ADSL line to my (Dennis') 2048/512Kbit ADSL line. We do not
move the server because of any problems or better line capacity, but mainly because that I want to have a fast access (LAN)
to my FreeBSD box ;-)

Due to my private move (I, Dennis, have moved from Aalborg to Copenhagen), the HovMon Demo Zone has not been working correct
in a couple of weeks. Of course this must be fixed as soon as possible, as the Demo Zone of course should not be dependent of
my private ADSL line (I am running a shell script manually to import the data values from all the counters).

Our server has been moved this weekend, and it has unfortunately given us some critical DNS problems, so our webpage has
been unavailable since late Saturday night, 2004-11-13, and until yesterday evening, 2004-11-16.
The server has moved to a slower internet line, but it is only a temporary measure, as we hope the server will be moved
again to a faster line as soon as possible. The server is currently feeded by a 512/512Kbit ADSL and before the move, it
was feeded by a 2048/2048Kbit HX line.
But the main thing is, that we are now up and running again and I (Dennis) has indeed learned a leason (something regarding
DNS configuration)!
